
Funding for any organisation is always fraught will real and imagined difficulties, but the do’s and the don’ts of applying for any grant are usually well addressed in the guidelines of the funding organisation.Planning and knowing exactly what you want to do is the first essential. There is no short cut to placing a successful application, and the full benefits of scrutinising the guidelines will save you much time and can be very rewarding.
Many organisations have books and booklets with added guidance to help complete a successful funding application. The Scottish Arts Council also have a “guide to funding” booklet, and an excellent marketing action plan booklet called “BOOST your performance” plus their “Don’t Panic” booklet for promoters.All full of very helpful information to clarify your thoughts and put your ideas in order.
